Review Our Website
Review our website if you have not done so already. Your major areas of concern or interest are “What is a Doodle?”, “Pricing”, “What comes with my Doodle?”, “Application”, “Contract to Buy,” and “Location”, with a map to estimate your location to ours. Once these areas have been reviewed, it should answer most of your questions, but we are always available for any additional questions or concerns you may have about purchasing a puppy from the Doodle Farm.
Application Process
If you would like to continue the process to purchase, then proceed to the “Application.” Fill out the application, sign, and send it back to us. No funds or payments are due at this time. Once we receive your application we will review and get back to you within 7 days of its receipt to us. Families must complete a puppy application on our website to start the process of puppy ownership. An application is required in order to set up a visitation at the Doodle Farm.
After Application Approval
Approved families will be notified by your choice – via email, phone, or text. Once you have been approved for a puppy from Red Barn Doodle Farm, your next step is to schedule a visitation to the Doodle Farm at 5 weeks of age or more on the litter of your choice. At that time you may choose a puppy from that litter or another litter that may be available. The deposit is then required to reserve your puppy.
Red Barn Doodle Farm takes cash, personal checks, money orders, bank or cashier’s checks, and Venmo, for initial reservations only. We will not hold any puppy from any litter without a $500 deposit at the time they make a litter selection. Puppy purchase is strictly first come first served.
When Do I Choose a Puppy?
Most of this information can be found on our website under “Available Puppies” and “Upcoming Litters.” This will give you and your family a chance to review the litters and pick a puppy of your choice—the right color, gender, and type of Doodle you prefer.
When Will the Doodle Farm Have Puppies?
Puppies are born on the Doodle Farm in late spring, early summer, or early to late winter, in the months of December through January. We do not manipulate heat cycles on our moms-to-be, we let them cycle naturally when their time is ready. Therefore, pickups on your puppy are generally July through September for spring puppies. Fall puppies are ready for pickup in the months of January through March with a little variation.
It’s Time to Choose a Puppy When the Buyer is on a Waiting List.
When you want to choose a puppy from an upcoming litter you like, we will notify you within 1 week of your litter’s birth. The birth will be posted on our website a photo at 1 week of age. Watch the puppies grow with photos on our website. Close to 3 and 4 weeks of age, the puppies will be more mature, they will have more movement, eyes will be open, and they will start to exhibit some personality. They will also have a determined sex and color. At 5 weeks of age, puppies are developed enough so you may make a selection according to what your preference might be. Please keep in mind, as puppies grow and develop, they often change in color and personality—it’s nature, not science.
I Found a Puppy I Want
When you chose a puppy and that selection has been approved for purchase, either by phone, email or in person, a $500 deposit must be received at that time by either cash, check, or Venmo. In addition to the deposit, a signed “Contract to Buy” must accompany the deposit. Puppies will not be taken off the “Available Puppy Selection” unless a deposit has been received
If your first-choice has already been spoken for by a previous family on the waitlist ahead of you, then you may make another selection in that litter or wait until the next litter arrives.
How Do I Make My Puppy Choice My Own?
After your deposit of $500 has been received with a signed application as well as “Contract to Buy,” your puppy choice will be reserved for you and your family and will no longer be available to purchase from any other family.
Visiting to Make Your Puppy Choice
If you and your family would like to visit to find your perfect puppy choice, we would love that at the Doodle Farm. Visiting occurs at 5 – 6 weeks of age or older. See “Visiting the Farm” on our website for details. If on your visit to the farm you fall in love with a doodle of your choice, you may, at that time, reserve your doodle with a $500 deposit. He or she would then be taken off the “Available Puppy Selection” and be reserved for you and your family.
If Conditions Change, I Can’t Take My Puppy
Of course, we want everyone to love their new addition to their family, but sometimes the timing isn’t right, or conditions change abruptly, and you can’t pick up or take possession of your new puppy. We understand that at the Doodle Farm. The Doodle Farm always wants our new families to be totally thrilled with their new arrival. If plans have changed after your deposit of $500 has been received, you can delay your purchase of a puppy up to 2 years until timing is right for you and your family.
The Puppies Are Ready to Go Home
Watch and enjoy your puppy grow under the “Available Puppies” weekly photo tab. At 8 weeks of age, we like our puppies to be picked up and go to their new forever home. A final payment of $1,000 in cash will be required at the time of pickup. Cash, bank, or cashier’s checks are accepted. If you would prefer your final payment to be at the time of pick up, we require it to be in cash only. No checks will be accepted on final payments for puppies going home. No puppies will be allowed to go home without final payment. The Doodle Farm reserves the right at any time to revoke a puppy purchase and to return all collected fees. Puppies must be picked up in person by the owner(s) of the puppy, with proof of identification, for your and our protection.
